Every contractor listing on Call Charlie includes license data from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR). You can verify any contractor's license directly on our site by checking their profile page, or by visiting the official DBPR license verification portal. Search by license number, business name, or individual name.

Does Florida require contractors to be licensed?

Yes. Under Florida Statute 489, contractors performing work valued over $1,000 must hold an active license issued by the DBPR Construction Industry Licensing Board. Working without a license is a criminal offense in Florida. Always verify a contractor's license status before hiring.

How do I report an unlicensed contractor?

Report unlicensed activity directly to DBPR via their online complaint portal or call 850-487-1395. You can also report an issue to Call Charlie if you believe a listing contains incorrect information.

How do I claim my contractor profile?

If you're a DBPR-licensed Florida contractor, your profile already exists on Call Charlie. Visit Claim Your Profile to get started. Claiming is free and lets you add business details, photos, service descriptions, and respond to reviews.

Can I request my data be removed?

Call Charlie displays publicly available DBPR license records under Florida's Public Records Law. If you believe your listing contains an error, submit a data request and we'll review it. Note that public license data published by DBPR cannot be suppressed, but we can correct any inaccuracies in how it's displayed.
